Session debrief · Daytona Beach — Ponce Inlet
Ryan Ragan coaches surfers one-on-one in Daytona Beach — from up-and-coming competitors to surfers who simply want to improve faster.
Coaching is arranged by conversation, not a booking button: call or email, tell us about the surfer, and Ryan builds a plan around their goals.
01 — Then / now
Every surfer learns differently and progresses at a different pace, so coaching never comes off a menu. Ryan — a professional surfer with a World Surf League athlete profile — works with intermediate, advanced, and competitive surfers of all ages, male and female, tailoring each session to the individual: technique, wave selection, positioning, competition strategy, or all of it.
Sessions run wherever the conditions serve the surfer best — usually Sunsplash Park in Daytona Beach, and Ponce Inlet when it's holding the smaller, cleaner swell that's ideal for focused coaching work.

02 — The ladder
Coaching never comes off a menu — the first job is an honest reading of where the surfer is. The deeper the sounding, the deeper the work.
03 — No booking button
Coaching plans vary too much for one-size-fits-all pricing, so everything starts with a short conversation. Have three things ready:
How old is the surfer? Ryan coaches juniors through adults.
Honest is best — beginner finding their feet, intermediate stuck on a plateau, or advanced refining technique.
Competing, or learning to improve? Contest preparation looks very different from becoming a better everyday surfer — the plan is built around which one it is.
From there Ryan will talk through what a coaching plan looks like for that surfer — session structure, where you'd surf, and how often it makes sense to meet.
Fifteen years on the ASP World Qualifying Series, a World Surf League athlete profile, and every one of those waves feeding the same debrief you’re booking.

His expertise and passion for surfing were evident as he provided clear instructions tailored to my skill level. Ryan's patience, encouragement, and ability to break down techniques made the lesson enjoyable and effective. His knowledge of local waves and conditions was invaluable. I highly recommend Ryan as a surf coach for an unforgettable experience that will improve your skills. Thank you, Ryan!”
